2020
By 2020, the group of women in Washington, D.C., who had been performing The Vagina Monologues since 2018 had seen their annual production grow significantly. After their second performance at the African American Civil War Memorial Museum, the event gained more traction, drawing in larger crowds, increased sponsorship, and new cast members. Local businesses began donating food and drinks for the audience, and the performance drew over 150 attendees, filling the venue beyond capacity. Unfortunately, due to the onset of COVID-19, 2020 marked the final rendition of their version of The Vagina Monologues, closing a powerful chapter in their community-driven project.
