2018

In 2018, a group of women in Washington, D.C., who connected through dance and gym classes, recognized the importance of The Vagina Monologues, a groundbreaking play by Eve Ensler. Inspired by its themes of female empowerment, sexuality, and the fight against gender-based violence, they decided to stage their own performance. Hosted by a local gym, they performed for an audience of mostly family, friends, and neighbors, marking the beginning of what would become an annual tradition. Over the years, their production gained momentum, attracting larger sponsors, more viewers, and greater attention, turning their grassroots effort into a significant community event.
